give some rice.

FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program.

By answering some general knowledge questions on this site, different sponsors donate 1 grain of rice to a place in need. 1 grain of rice might not seem like a lot but it builds up to 10, 20, 50, even 100 grains in no time. The questions are pretty addictive and you have to remember there are people all over the world doing this so it really does make a difference. You can chose questions from all types of subjects like Art, English, Geography, even different languages.

FreeRice has two goals:

-Provide education to everyone for free.
-Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

“‘It’s fantastic,’ says the World Food Program’s Bangladesh director. Adds a 32-year-old widow living in a refugee camp with her 8-year-old daughter, ‘I depend on the rice.’”

- People Magazine

“FreeRice is a triumph of converting passivity into engagement.”

- New York Times Magazine

“Feeling guilty about wasting time on computer solitaire? Join tAdd Imagehe growing guilt-free multitude at FreeRice.com, an online game with redeeming social value.”

Not going to lie.. That last one did it home quite a bit..
